  • “Passion of Music 2010” at Carnegie Hall
    International Young Musician Festival

    Concert at Weill Recital Hall * April 18, 2010 at 6PM
    Eligibility & Repertoire

     * The Festival is open to students between the ages of 5
       and 18. Applicants may include instrumentalists, piano   
       ensembles (one piano with four or six hands) and chamber
       ensembles in the 7 year-old age categories

    * Participants of the Festival may perform two pieces,
      each of different character, from the standard repertoire

    * Single movements from sonatas are acceptable (except for
      the slow movements)
    		   Audition Rules
      
       * All contestants must perform from memory
       * Ensemble Category- The music does not have to be
          memorized and arrangements are welcomed
       * No repeats.
       * Judges comments will not be disclosed
       * Audition DVDs will not be returned
       * All contestants except pianists must provide his/her       
          accompanist
            

    How to Apply

    Participants may choose to send audition DVDs or to participate in a live audition at an appointed date.

    All applications and audition DVDs must be postmarked no later than February 10, 2010

    Applicants will be notified the results by March 1, 2010 by e-mail

    A contestant must submit the following documents:
    *Application
      DOWNLOAD  APPLICATION   
    * Proof of Age
    * Contestant's photo.
    * DVD of contestant's audition performance

    * A non-refundable $60 registration fee

        Awards
        For each age group:
       
        * Gold medal and Laureate Certificate
        * Silver medal and Diplomante Certificate
        * Honorable mention diploma

        Gold and Silver Medals winners will be invited to perform at
        the Recital Concert at Weill Recital Hall at the Carnegie Hall
     
        Honorable mention recipients will be invited to perform at
        other concert venues in the New York Metropolitan area

        Each Winners' Concert performer will receive four (4)
        complementary tickets for the concert
